If only I'd been a little brighter
To understand the gesture better.
The moonlight flickered, the night stars sighed
At the sight of my foolish reply.

If only I've had the courage of telling
How much I delighted in your being.
Inside the wonder of your mere presence
Resides the core of my true existence.

If only I could turn back time
To the days our spirits rhymed.
Special or not, the moments we've shared,
Nothing else could have compared.
